Work
I am a Technology Portfolio Director at Taylor & Francis, part of Informa. The job is to help a large set of digital teams build well and ship things customers actually use — and to make sense of that work as a portfolio rather than as a heap of projects.
The role splits, roughly, into three streams of attention:
Portfolio and programme stewardship — multi-year roadmaps across product and engineering, the annual planning cycle that turns strategy into things to build, and the budget that supports them.
AI transformation — working with HR and L&D on how the company adopts AI across roles and functions: what training looks like, what new operating models are needed, and how the delivery work continues through that change.
Helping teams ship well — the people, practices, and infrastructure that let global product and engineering teams put things into customers’ hands.
The current role has grown through earlier remits at T&F as Head of Programme Delivery and as Chief of Staff.
Earlier #
Oxford University Press — worked with leadership and the wider team on a multi-year shift to agile delivery, contributing to a meaningful change in how the technology organisation built and shipped, and to recurring annual savings.
Taylor & Francis (earlier) — delivered the Digital Foundation programme, establishing single sources of truth for product, content, and customer data; contributed to the rebuild of the e-commerce platform.
Educational technology (OUP and Convergys) — built and led teams that shipped educational software to students and teachers across four continents, including OUP’s first mobile app.
